Nursing Home Suffers Water Damage

The pooling water in the corridor of this nursing home was the result of the sprinkler system going awry. The sensitivities of the elder residents to moisture, odors, and potential mold growth encouraged our SERVPRO of Oakville / Mehlville technicians to act as quickly as possible to extract the water. We used portable pumps to keep the noise level down as we extracted the bulk of the water. Since this was commercial grade carpeting, we did not have to lift the carpet and discard the padding. We set up numerous dehumidifiers to quickly capture the airborne moisture and restore the area to a pleasant, ambiance. We lightly sprayed an antimicrobial product, after receiving the okay from the on-site nurse concerning allergies or illnesses, to finish the commercial water damage restoration.
